IEDC 2012 Gold Excellence Award

SEDC 2012 Communications Award of Merit

Lindale Economic Development Corporation
Receives Excellence in Economic Development Award from
the International Economic Development Council

Lindale Economic Development Corporation received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award for their New Primary Website in the category of General Purpose Website for communities with populations of less than 25,000 from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 during the IEDC Annual Conference, which was held September 30 – October 3 in Houston, Texas.

"We recognize Lindale Economic Development Corporation for creating innovative and successful strategies to promote economic development in this period of global recovery,” said Jay Moon, IEDC chair. “Our awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in communities. Lindale Economic Development Corporation demonstrates that they are at the forefront of the economic development profession and are using cutting-edge, effective practices that can be replicated in other communities."

According to LEDC President, John Clary, "in 2011, LEDC sought to create a brand new primary website to replace our website originally developed in 2005. We sought a site that catered to site consultants, real estate professionals and lay people looking for data. (It’s all about the data.) We also wanted improved SEO, and to compete on the world stage. We contracted with ED Solutions to help us create an RFP which was distributed locally and nationally and ultimately chose ED Suite of Kilgore Texas to design the site due to their superior design and support."

IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.

Following the awards ceremony, Clary stated, "It's humbling to receive such a prestigeous award, especially knowing that is has been judged by peers in our industry. This definitely raises the bar for our organization and we are proud to have the opportunity to represent our community with this award and website."
