New Assisted Living Center Opens In Lindale

The Legends senior community in Lindale has expanded with the grand opening of its assisted living facility.

The newly constructed facility on FM 2710 has room to serve 28 residents within its 21,000 square foot building. The Legends is owned by the Watts family, long-time Lindale residents, and is the first facility of its type in the community.

The Legends Assisted Living offers a variety of features including 24 hour staffing and emergency response; spacious common areas and engaging activities; restaurant style dining room offering 3 meals per day; wellness room with space for rehabilitation and therapy; individualized assistance with medications, bathing and grooming; housekeeping and laundry services; scheduled transportation; on-site beauty/barber shop with reasonable rates; screened in private patios and several choices of room accommodations.

The assisted living facility is adjacent to The Legends of Lindale senior apartments which provides independent living for seniors 55 and better. In total, The Legends features 22 assisted living suites and 88 independent living apartments.

Ed Watts said the vision for the facility was driven by the need in the Lindale community for a safe, comfortable place that can provide needed assistance to seniors and their families. He said it is designed to offer programs and services that complement the desires of older adults to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

When fully operational, the Legends will employ more than 20 people, counting both full and part-time staff.
