When the Brunson family took a look at East Texas, there was never any doubt about where they wanted to relocate and open a facility that they hope one day will be the premiere place to host classic horse shows.

Robert and Kathy Brunson and their children, Kimberly and Bryan purchased the 1,700 acre property in the Spring of 2006 and moved to the area in August 2006. The result has been the opening of their Texas Rose Horse Park near the southeast corner of I-20 and Hwy 110.

"Just look," Kimberly Brunson exclaimed when asked why the family chose the Lindale area. "Breathtaking . . . it's beautiful, spiritual. It's a rider's dream to work in the fields, and then work out together. Horses can be horses here."

On arrival in East Texas, the family immediately embarked on a massive construction project that has seen the completion of four permanent barns which can stable 400 horses, more than enough to house animals for two to four concurrent shows.

The goal is to have the best facility possible. Horse shows are definitely a specator sport, Brunson says of events in East Texas. "We want to give the people of East Texas something to watch as a family."

The facility has already drawn several events, including the Tyler Grand Prix which attracted more than 400 riders from throughout the United States and benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Texas.
